Going Green

 

Sageville Student Council members are helping our school go green. This week they placed small "shut off" reminders near all light switches in our school. Next week they will put "shut off" reminders on monitors and signs on garbage cans and recycle bins.

Way to Go Taylor!

 

Congratulations to Taylor whose literary work will be part of a live stage production at Loras College. Taylor’s story, entitled The Princess and the Peasant was one of the winning entries in the “RiverWrites” contest and will be performed at Loras College May 1st and 2nd, with school performances on May 3rd and 4th. Heather and Samantha received Honorable Mention for their entries. Congratulations!

Sageville Students Participate in Sectional Spelling Bee

February 11, 2010

Jefferson Middle School

 

Cody, Jacob, and Chris represented Sageville School well at the sectional spelling bee. Despite putting in great effort, they did not advance to the regional round. Good work boys!

Sageville Invention Convention

Congratulations to third grader, Kayla, for her winning entry in Sageville’s 2010 Invention Convention. Her Bathtub Book Holder edged out Taylor’s No Slip Car Ramps. Elizabeth and Allison took third place with their invention Snow Out. A total of seventeen 2nd - 5th grade students worked individually or with a partner to create inventions for the event. Other inventors and inventions, in no particular order, were:

 

·        Val – Beauty Supply Holder

·        Jessica & Carrie - Recycled Plant Waterer

·        Julia  - Glacier Diet Wet Water

·        Laynie - Hippy High Heely

·        Andrew & Tim – Mail Delivery Notifying Device

·        Jerod & Chase - Bottle Belt

·        Cassidy & Riley - The Banana Container

·        Zach & Chase - The Bridge Lift

 

All Sageville inventors and inventions have qualified for the regional invention convention to be held at Table Mound School on Thursday, February 18th. Good Luck to all of you!
